PRSG Big Day Out

Stroll through Sydney’s oldest neighbourhood The Rocks, home to historical sites, restored colonial architecture and Sydney’s oldest pubs. Visit the place where the First Fleet came ashore and learn about these tough men and women who forged new lives through the adversity and starvation that the new colony was facing.

Hear about former convicts who became great men, in the midst of a colony that was rife with drunkenness, gambling and crime. Learn about the first Australians – the Cadigal people who lived in this area for over 20,000 years prior to European settlement.

This tour is about the people and places of old Sydney, those who struggled through adversity and paved the way for the diverse and culturally rich city we live in today.

The Walk:

We will meet at the Kirribilli Hotel at 12:00pm for a quick catch up and drink before hitting the pavement at 12:30. As we walk across the Bridge, your tour will officially start as we take in one of Sydney's finest vantage points. With several planned refreshment stops, we will explore Sydney's famous heritage precinct The Rocks while discussing important topics such as history, politics, formal dresses, government control, home brewing, architecture, urban planning and school fees. If you have ever met one of those guys who retain a lot of useless information, brace yourself.

After walking about 2km and climbing a few flights of stairs, we will finish up at a nice old workers pub where the wharfies would slake their thirst on gin cocktails, and snack on some Rockerfeller Oysters, roasted zucchini skewers and a Club Sandwich or two.
